Fan is a kind of slave fluid machinery which relies on the input mechanical energy to increase the gas pressure and discharge the gas. Fan is the customary abbreviation for gas compression and gas transportation machinery in China, and the fans usually referred to include ventilators, blowers, and wind turbines. Fans are widely used for ventilation, dust removal and cooling of factories, mines, tunnels, cooling towers, vehicles, ships and buildings, ventilation and air induction of boilers and industrial furnaces; cooling and ventilation of air-conditioning equipment and household electrical appliances; drying and conveying of grains, inflating and propelling of wind tunnels and hovercrafts, and so on.
